As with last night when I mentioned Umass going into Dayton and dictating the tempo, I’ll follow that up w/ the same type of play tonight. Fullerton’s going to dictate the tempo in the ballgame at Pacific as they bring in an adjusted pace rank of 12th in the nation into this contest. Not only is Pacific returning home after a three-game roadtrip that saw them struggle with Bakersfield, Long Beach State, they also last the lost the third game of that three game roady to Northridge, whose pace rankings are almost identical to that of Fullerton. The only difference is, Fullerton plays a bit more of a organized system, while Northridge is all over the place. Not only did they lose the game by a whopping 17 points, but they also suffered some injuries to two of their most notable players in Nunally and Johnson. Don’t get me wrong, Pacific has an extreme size advantage here but the one person that can take advantage of that is Nunally, and he’s banged up. I think Pacific as a whole is beat up. Not sure how they run with Fullerton here after the long three game trip, along with the status of the injuries, one being a groin, and the other a jammed thumb on the PG (Johnson). If Fullerton doesn’t get beaten in their own gym by Santa Barbara last time out (UCSB shot 60% from 3land, 65% for the game from the field), this game’s probably a PK or Fullerton’s a slight favorite.

3* Cal State Fullerton +3.5
1* Cal State Fullerton ML +160

The other day I stressed about routine, about these kids being human, especially in the smaller conferences. Which is exactly why you saw a completely different Miami OH team in the last month. They’ve only played a total of 4 games since the 22nd of December, all being on the road, all leading to losses against the 2nd best schedule in all of America. They come in here at 6-8 overall going up against a team that’s 13-2 (ten of these wins came at home), however, they’re still 5 spots better in the RPI at a #33. Yup, a 6-8 team is at #33 in the most recent RPI standings. I’m on the short home favorite. Kent’s been winning ballgames b/c it’s been able to get out to good starts and that isn’t going to happen against a team that in the bottom five in pace ratings in the land. Back to the normal routine, and back to the team that we saw in early November in my opinion.

3* Miami OH ML -140

Some others…

1* St. John’s +18.5
1* Loyola MD +1.5
1* ML Parlay: +142 Butler ML, Illinois Chicago ML
1* Eastern Illinois +12.5
1* Eastern Illinois ML +670 (d-u-m-b)

Left off Oregon, Vanderbilt, and UIC (points)…
