I’d love to write a few paragraphs on which team sucks worse in this spot, but that’s not going to happen. I’m simply fading a team off of a season high in points and scoring 15 more than their average. Also fading a team that was a 6 point dog to Pepperdine just days ago, and a team whose been on the road all of January. Five of MRYMNT’s last six losses have come to Zaga, BYU, Mississippi State, Sam Houston State (very good), and Wagner (whose 8-3). I see a big advantage in defensive efficiency where Sam Houston State comes in at #5, BYU at #18, Mississippi State at #11, Gonzaga #55, and Wagner #139. Portland’s a whopping #280 on that list, close to the bottom of all teams, allowing teams to shoot close to 45% from the field on them. With all of the above mentioned, I’m banking on a flat spot for Portland here, so I might as well make a play on the under as well considering Loyola plays as slow as a snail…
