Siena/Cornell
Still no Clarence Jackson for Siena, and Ronald Moore, Edwin Ubiles and Alex Franklin all were late for Friday’s shootaround. They will play, but unsure of how much time they will see. Letdown for Siena after beating #20 Stanford at home. They also have Albany on deck (big rivalry). This game should hit 145-150. Siena w/ a letdown and possible poor defense, and Cornell has 4 people who can shoot the 3ball, and a decent post presence. Simply put, this should be a game of 9-0, 12-2 type runs from both teams. And having noticed the trouble Siena players possibly not starting, that could help Cornell put together one of those type of runs in the 1H.
Rutgers/St. Peters
St. Peters is going to surprise some teams this year b/c of their speed an athleticism. This isn’t really a good spot for Rutgers as they just played a IVY League cellar dwellar close at home and now go on the road as a young squad. St. Peter’s was picked itself to finish at the bottom of it’s conference, so this game has zero hype. Other than the fact that St. Peters has a little added motivation b/c they’re opening the Jersey City Armory after renovations for the first time in 30 years. Home pup and ML+ look appealing.
Zona/Kansas
Kansas is looking to avenge a 61-49 loss to Arizona just two years ago at the Maui Invitational. A good chunk of KU’s team is still active and remembers that loss.
Eastern Kentucky/Duke
Duke wins the MAUI rather easily, flies 3000+ miles, Thanksgiving, and has a young roster. And they have Wisconsin on deck Tuesday in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. And they’re laying 31+ here to a squad that was picked by many publications to win the Ohio Valley. Duke 183-3 against non-conference opponents at home. Eastern Kentucky is normally a team that takes care of the ball awfully well, and gets to the free throw line, and they have a decent backcourt in Rose and Leonard. But, Rose is shooting a terrible % this year, and Leonard’s offense has declined, and being an 85% FT shooter, he hasn’t visited the foul stripe yet. Third straight roady for EKU, so I’ll probably lay off, but if this team isn’t struggling from the offensive side of things, this line is probably 4-5 points shorter than listed. Just don’t see how Duke is fired up for this Noon game on a Sunday after winning the Maui and Wisconsin on deck.
Interested in Missouri State/Winthrop, or VMI/OSU but don't see anything available...
No plays as of yet. Quite a few of those games where you’re better off flipping a coin rather than capping b/c of the end of a tournament and teams playing for 5th, 7th, or 3rd.
Sunday: Pass
