Throwing this out there in the hope of learning from one of my many mistakes with poker. I think I've become too used to the loose style of play by some players and its affected my judgement, this will be considered by myself in future decisions. I suspect I made a typical fish decision but I leave judgement to you good folk....
The following hand takes place shortly after I joined a table, I have no previous information on my opponents.
Current Number of Players: 9
Moraka is dealt down [Qh Qd]
Opponent 1 folds
Opponent 2 folds
Moraka raises to (1)
Opponent 3 folds
Opponent 4 calls (1)
Opponent 5 calls (1)
Opponent 6 folds
Opponent 7 raises to (5)
Moraka calls (5)
Opponent 8 folds
Opponent 9 calls (5)
So I make a small raise on the flop hoping not to give the game away on my reasonably strong hand. I then call a re-raise which isn't terribly unusual where I am playing.
flop: [6h Jd Td]
Opponent 7 bets (14.50)
Moraka calls (14.50)
Opponent 9 folds
I'm left with an overpair and a hefty bet comes down. Getting too familiar with loose opponents I call committing myself to the pot. Hindsight being great I should have folded here of course.
turn: [8d]
Opponent 7 bets (45.73) and is all-in
Moraka calls (21.50) and is all-in
Opponent 7 is refunded (24.23)
I'm committed and expected to end up all-in by the river so called.
river: [Ks]
Opponent 7 shows [Ah Ac] for a pair of aces
Moraka mucks
Opponent 7 wins (85.25)
So how would you have played it?
Any and all feedback, swearing and laughing is welcome
