Default ID Verification

Has anyone ever had to send in a scan of their ID/utility bill to a poker room? Obviously the casinos do this but does anyone know about poker rooms specifically? I'm trying to find out if a theoretical person could just claim to be from Mexico to play on non-US sites. It's not for me, it's for a friend. And actually I don't even know them very well. So just back off.

The only room that I know of that does is mansion. THat is it but they allow US anyways. I dont know if this would work or not though because I am sure because of the law, when ever deposits or withdrawls are made, it tracks the IP address and when that IP shows they are from the US, they are screwed. And they would probably let him dep. knowing gambling places, then once he tries to cashout it would be a no go. He might be able to get his original dep. back by mail, and it would take a long time. That would be my take.

Heres what you do.. Go to your local mexican restaurant.. Ask for "juan"... pick one of the 5 dudes that respond. Tell him you will give him $20 if he lets u scan his Mexico ID. If he refuses, throw in a 6 pack of Modelo.

If a poker room asked for document copies I would refuse, and go elsewhere.

If we had done this with the casinoes a long time ago, this problem would not have become what it is today, IMHO.

I hate requests for documents, **** ******** *********
