Ultimate Bet Review
UltimateBet.com
If you’ve watched the World Series of Poker at all, you’ve probably seen some of the biggest names in poker sporting UltimateBet.com gear at the final table. Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, and David “Devilfish” Ulliott are all part of the UB team to name a few, along with countless, lesser known online pros. UB is a favorite of the pros because of it unique tournament blind structure that seems to draw a lot of experienced players to the tables. Here are some quick facts on UB:
Methods of Deposit – Neteller, Bank Check, Firepay, Visa, Mastercard, Visa Electron, Citadel Commerce, Moneybookers.com.
Number of Players – Between 20-30k logged on during peak hours.
Rake – No more than $3 a hand, depending on the number of players and the limits at the table.
Bonuses – 100% first deposit bonus up to $500.
UltimateBet is a much smaller site in comparison with PS and PP, and that is evident in the prize pools of their tournaments. They have less daily tournaments as well. However, the site has a large contingent of regular pros that play, so the competition is quite good on the site. Personally, I dislike UB’s lobby interface. It is difficult to find the game you want with the limited filtering options. The lobby interface is also very cheap looking, kind of pop-up ad looking. They’ll have to consult PP for advice on lobby design for sure. UB has a decent table setup however, it is nothing spectacular. It is clear that UB spent most of their time designing the tournament structure, which is superb. Their UltimatePoints reward system has some pretty cool stuff to be won in it, but again, like PS, you will have to devout your life to playing poker in order to get to the upper echelon of the prizes.
Pros
- Challenging Competition
- Awesome Tournament Structure
- Great 1st Deposit Bonus
Cons- Ugly lobby design
- Hard to reach reward system prizes
- Well, Phil Hellmuth endorses it, meaning, lots of whiney brats
